Field Notes for the Female Globetrotter Project
As a woman who often travels solo, I wanted to create a project inspired by my own experiences and the unique perspective of women travelers. I researched a wide range of women’s travel blogs, looking for the advice and information that consistently came up across different destinations and experiences. That research became the foundation for an infographic series designed as a playful, practical “how-to” guide for women preparing to travel internationally. I wanted the visual style to feel like an authentic travel journal, personal, colorful, and handcrafted, while still making the information clear, concise, and easy to navigate.
Hometown Brewery Throwdown Project
This project began as an exploration of how a strong sense of place and community could be translated into a cohesive branding experience. I immersed myself in the local businesses and culture surrounding the thriving microbrewery scene in my hometown of Vista, California, researching six local breweries to understand what made each one unique and what could bring them together under one visual identity.
What started as a multi-page, responsive website evolved into a full brand system, giving me the opportunity to explore everything from visual identity and content organization to responsive web design and the details that make a digital experience feel connected and intentional.
“I will Break Foolish traditions” Project
This project explored the creation of a typographic book featuring two political speeches from pivotal moments in American economic history. I chose to examine the rhetoric surrounding two major financial crises, comparing a 1938 speech by Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression with a 2008 speech by Barack Obama during the Great Recession.
By translating the language of both speeches into a visual and typographic experience, I explored the similarities in how each period responded to economic uncertainty. The project became an interesting study of how history can echo itself, particularly in the ways governments communicate and respond during times of crisis.
